      This unit covers the competencies required to provide ICT security. They include identification of security threats, installation of security control measures, implementation of security measures, testing of system vulnerability and monitoring of the security system.

      UNIT OBJECTIVES

      To successfully complete this unit, you must demonstrate proficiency in several critical areas:

      • Threat Identification: Identifying and categorizing risks based on system vulnerability and impact.
      • Security Implementation: Deploying physical and logical control measures according to the Kenya Security Act 2018 and organizational policies.
      • Vulnerability Testing: Developing testing plans and performing ethical penetration tests to find system weaknesses.
      • System Monitoring: Evaluating performance, generating security reports, and updating systems based on those findings.

      To undertake the course you should have access to:

      1. A laptop
      2. A smartphone
      3. Internet access
